I am honored to serve as the Visual Artist and Creative Mentor for the Mycetoma and Neglected Tropical Diseases Collaborative Applied Internship Project, organized through a partnership between the ALMAA Water Initiative and the New York University School of Global Public Health (NYU).
Throughout Summer 2026, I will be guiding a group of talented students as they develop creative projects that use art and visual storytelling to raise awareness about mycetoma and neglected tropical diseases. The program explores how artistic expression can support public health communication, community engagement, and human dignity.
As part of this journey, I will mentor students in transforming research, field experiences, and human stories into meaningful visual works capable of educating, inspiring, and creating dialogue.
The program will culminate in a public art exhibition showcasing the students’ final projects—demonstrating how creativity can become a powerful tool for awareness, advocacy, and positive social impact.
I look forward to sharing updates, insights, and behind-the-scenes moments from this unique collaboration throughout the summer.
